Best Sources: UCSC Supplier Agreements

Summary: Learn the best sources for goods and services, based on CruzBuy hosted catalog suppliers with discounts, and punchout suppliers. Access links to UCSC agreements with suppliers, and to UCOP Purchasing Agreements.

UCSC strategically sourced agreements offer discounts and payment and delivery terms that provide the campus with the lowest total cost available for the supplies offered under the agreements.

Agreements are Only Accessible from UCSC IP Addresses

Access to UCSC agreements is restricted to UCSC employees. The restrictions placed on the folder require that your computer be in the 128.114 subnet (i.e. UCSC's subnet). If you come from elsewhere, you will not be able to view these restricted pages. A legitimate way around this restriction is to use a proxy located in the 128.114 subnet.

The only public proxy that everyone with a UCSC/CATS account can use is the "unix.ic.ucsc.edu" compute server. This is a UNIX timesharing computer, and once you've logged into it (using "ssh"), you can use the "lynx" command to invoke a text based browser. Since you are effectively coming from a computer on the 128.114 subnet, you will be able to view the restricted pages (but only in text mode). Other units on campus may offer proxy services.
